If you like Jackie Wilson, then you will love this album from 1963. The title song Baby Workout was a hit for Jackie in 1963 and helped to pave the way for his other 60's hits including Higher and Higher and Whispers. on this album Wilson's vocal range is not fully reached, but, you can hear a lot of the Clyde McPhatter influence in Jackie's voice. Most people know that Clyde McPhatter and Jackie Wilson were good friends. Wilson took Clyde's place when Clyde left the Dominoes to form the Drifters. From Shake, Shake, Shake, to What good am I without you Jackie captures you and takes you on a musical journey. If you ever saw Jackie Wilson perform then just listening to this album will bring back memories that you will love. My father purchased this album for me after we saw Jackie perform at the Apollo the night before. To all collectors: This album is worth purchasing keeping. The photos on the cover show why Jackie Wilson was known as "Mr. Excitement".
